Season 2 of StoryBoard begins with Just One More by Wendi Silvano, a story about a little kid on a bus that’s just a little bit too cramped. We also begin our new chapter book, Ghost of the Chicken Coop Theater by Linda Salisbury, a charming tale about Bailey Fish and her friends converting an abandoned chicken coop into a theater and writing a play.
We also begin 2 new sections that both parents and children will enjoy. First there’s Sandra Boynton’s Sing-a-long songbook Frog Trouble, featuring famous singers and songwriters like Ben Folds and Allison Krauss. We’ve also added The Question of the Week, where we’ll read a short story and ask our listeners to answer a question for a chance to win the book of the week. So make sure to tune in, beginning this Sunday at 3:30pm, on IPR.
Question of the Week
Each week during Ghost of the Chicken Coop Theater we’ll take a short break from the story to bring you The Question of the Week. During this segment we’ll read a short 1-2 paragraph story and ask questions about the story. If you believe you know the answer to the question, e-mail us at StoryBoardIPR@gmail.com. Those of you who submit correct answers will be entered in a drawing to win the Book of the Week. Have your answer in by Thursday. Make sure to include your name, the town where you live, and a phone number where we can reach you. Good luck and happy reading!
Parents, we take our questions directly from Brain Quest decks with permission from Workman Publishing. Brain Quest is an educational resource that helps motivates children, improving their reading skills, math skills, and more.
