Ball State University plans to make up lost class time from the early January cold snap by holding classes on Friday nights and Saturdays in February. The Muncie school cancelled all classes and closed its campus on January 6 and 7due to – 40 degree wind chills.
Ball State notified professors and students by email today that classes will be made up on the Friday evenings of January 31 and February 7 and Saturdays on February 1 and 8.
Ball State officials say federal rules that define minimum credit hours requirements are driving the school to make up the class time. Officials also say a contingency plan will be adopted for any future cancellations.
